sli and crossfire are different. Sli compatible GPU's cannot be used in crossfire and vice-versa.

The specification of the motherboard will tell you if it is SLI or crossfire capable.

P.s SLI and crossfire are only really useful if u have an existing GPU that is capable of SLI or crossfire. A higer end GPU will be better than 2 lesser cards in SLI/crossfire.

e.g 2 7600's are not as good as a 7950.......

If you are purchasing a brand new GPU, then just get one high- end GPU (7900+ for higer end gaming)

7600's are good for cheaper mid-range gaming, and vista

i hope this helps............. ;)

Crossfire is an ATI solution whereas SLI is supported by NVIDIA. You need to decide which kind of graphics card that you're going to use before you purchase your new motherboard. ASUS produces motherboards that support either solution.
Hope that this helps some.

forget approximately approximately those adult men speaking approximately Crossfire, they are speaking with reference to the interest Crossfire. nicely for advantageous SLI is the appropriate certainly because of the fact nVidia is the international's best pics competitor and devoid of their CUDA technogly we would in all probability be way at the back of in technological information and finding oils, minerals and so on. Nvidia's products are very rapid. In my adventure, I truthfully have had a super sort of probems with ATI pics enjoying cards and heavily believe my 10 years adventure.

Both are really money wasters. Get a 300 8800 GTS from newegg and you will be able to tackle about anything.

Even better, find a 150 7900 series card and you'll save more $$..
