I think I would check this website:
Epocrates Online - https://online.epocrates.com/

(You can sign up for free or just do a quick search for Lexapro)

Scroll down and look at the Drug Interactions. From what I see, Lexapro lists several pain meds but mostly ones that are aspirin and acetaminophen based. I didn't see any opiods (Oxycontin, ms contin, methadone, morphine, fentanyl) so I would have to say that it depends on the pain medication you are trying to mix.

acetaminophen/butalbital/caffeine/codeine acetaminophen/codeine acetaminophen/hydrocodone acetaminophen/propoxyphene acetaminophen/tramadol
aspirin
aspirin, buffered/pravastatin aspirin/butalbital/caffeine/codeine aspirin/caffeine/propoxyphene aspirin/carisoprodol/codeine aspirin/codeine
codeine

When I scrolled over each link, the only drug interactions that it saw wasn't anything really harmless. Simply that Lexapro would weaken the strength of the pain medications.

If you aren't satisfied with your doctor's answer, it never hurts to get a second opinion. I've been suggested to be placed on Lexapro for anxiety and panic attacks I have had in the past, and I take pain meds, so I'm not sure how harmful or harmless mixing Lexapro, Valium and pain medications can be (since I haven't been on Lexapro before. I have been given Valium and pain medications when I detoxed off Fentanyl once to start over and it pretty much knocked me out for several hours of sleep). I MUST STRESS -> DO NOT self medicate yourself. In some states it will cost you a lot. Here in Texas, self medicating, will give the doctor the right to terminate me as a patient. I would really suggest asking your doctor about this. You don't want to risk mixing medication that can hurt you.

If by "valume" you mean Valium, I can assure you as a retired mental health clinician who managed a psychiatric clinic for around 12 years, that your Valium bottle should have some warning label on it about not taking Valium with certain other meds and about operating machinery (cars) while under the influence, and it would be most appropriate if the same doctor prescribed both medicines, and if not, that you would be responsible in telling each doctor what other medicines you're taking so that they don't prescribe medicines that could be a dangerous combo. God Bless you.

Unless you want to end up like the recently deceased singer GERALD LEVERT, I say 'no'!

Call your local pharmacy and ask them about drug-interactions.

Tell pharmacist what you've been prescribed and he should be able to tell you if you have the green light!

Better yet, take your medicine to the pharmacist and let him look at what you have.

I know this is a lot out of your way, but if it can prevent a trip to the funeral home, then maybe you need to go out of your way!
