hybrids haven't developed enough to compete with the regular cars whose EPA ratings are almost as high as a hybrid,, If you do the math for your daily driving situation you can see that paying the money for a hybrid won't save you that much in the long run, it's still very new technology and nobody knows how these cars hold up after 15 or 20 years.
Add to that the inverted tax structure and it makes no sense for the average consumer to go and buy a hybrid.
Not when my super reliable escort gets 30 MPG anyway...

Because the damn government gave them higher taxes.

Or at least, that's what I heard.

heard a radio show on that today and i think is the most part is they need more refinement they have not got the battery thing down pat and i think for what they cost you can't really save that much over a gas burner they are high priced to work on i think we have got a long way to go on the hybrid car thing i think we will not see a lot of progress tell they get the hydrogen fuel cell down pat i think the battery thing is not the answer. and i think a lot of people will agree

There not perfected yet and they still cost to much to build and the consumer is not willing to pay the high price for them.
