1990 Honda Civic automatic(about 86,000 miles): unable to pull the key out of ignition at first try after shifting into park and turning engine off; and, also unable to shift out of park some times. (At same time these two problems arose, the steering wheel stopped clicking into lock position when engine was shut off.)

Is your car on an downgrade?

sometimes the sterring lock will kick in and lock up the ignition keys

If so ask someone to try pushing the car up the downgrade and then remove the keys

This problem has happened to me but not with a Honda

Good luck
