I think I heard white women are more likely to, for the number of unplanned pregnancies. I imagine the reason is that the white subculture is less accepting of single motherhood than the black subculture.

I actually read a paper about this issue. It was a few years ago and I can't remember the source.
I do remember that statistically, white women are more likely to have an abortion than black women or Hispanic women.

I'm sure you can find more information on the Internet.

Poor women in general are more likely to get an abortion. Its not about race its about finances. 75% of abortions are due to financial reasons. I've heard that minority women are 4 times more likely than white women to get abortions (there is conflicting stats on this). It also has to do with lack of family planning. When you have health insurance you have access to doctors and birth control. If you are poor and your job doesn't have health insurance and you can't afford it out of pocket, you are not going to be going to the doctor and getting birth control prescriptions.
White women have different reasons for getting abortions than black women. White women will generally get abortions because they don't want to be single parents because of the stigma involved, or from family pressure. The only tried and true method for reducing abortions is reducing unplanned pregnancies.

No, I don't so. I think that a lot of women think that is their only option. Instead of thinking it through they take the easy way out. I would think I would be a lot easier to live with yourself when you give the child up for adoption, rather than get an abortion. With adoption you are doing an wonderful thing and giving that child it's life. With abortion you are taking that child's life away from it.

According to the Alan Guttmacher Institute (the research arm of Planned Parenthood), black women are more than 3 times as likely as white women to commit abortion. For more information on this topic, see:
