If you are certain that the vent is clear take the vent off of the dryer and turn it on. You should have a good strong flow of air coming out. If you don't the duct where the filter goes is blocked and needs to be cleaned out. If you do have a good flow then dry a load of clothes with the vent off and see if it is working better. If it is then you need to recheck the entire vent and the hood and flap where the vent exits the house.

Had that happen to me a couple months ago. The repairman said the heating element was blown out and needed to be replaced. My dryer was about 15 years old, so I opted to replace the entire dryer instead of fixing it. I was quoted $60, but I don't recall if that also included labor.

Just like your first answer, most probably your heating element is out. Just the part should run between $20 and $45 dollars...not counting the labor of the repair man. It's alot cheaper to fix it then buy a new one. Best of luck to you.

Most likely a heating element, do some research, find out how much a service man will charge you and then weigh your options as far as cost. Good Luck!
