So I have been hearing sounds that sound like a high pitched bone cracking sound when the baby moves sometimes. it's not very lowed but it's scaring me, its really creepy. Is it the babys bones cracking? She's still moving around and stuff and I have heard this more than once in more than just one day so it's not like she could have broke a bone or something. Or maybe its my bones moving and cracking when the baby moves?

You didn't mention how far along you are... I'm assuming you're in your third trimester if she's kicking that hard. When you near the end of your pregnancy your bones will start to crack and pop more often, because hormones make the ligaments stretchier, and cartilidge will soften also. This will allow the baby to pass through the birth canal when you labor. As far as the baby breaking any bones in the womb, it's unlikely. You're probably hearing the baby kick the wall of your uterus. There aren't too many things that would cause your baby to break bones while in the womb except for trauma during pregnancy or labor like a bad fall or car accident. You can mention it at your next prenatal; your midwife or OB may suggest a sonogram to double-check. Good luck!

it's probably your bones because towards the end of your pregnancy your pelvic bones start to soften to allow for the birth. my bone use to make a cracking sound too when I walked towards the end of my pregnancy. if your concerned see a doctor but I don't think it's any thing and not the baby cause the baby's bones are too soft yet while they are still inside they harden up later after the baby is born

I heard a similar noise during pregnancy, and it was the ligaments being stretched and moved around. I would call your doctor when they are open and ask just to make sure.

I would definately talk to your Doctor about this as soon as you can. I would not assume the worse. He/She most likely will perform an ultrasound and go from there. I'm sure everything will be fine. Please email me at:

as soon as you learn you and baby are okay.

unless your doctor uses yahoo answers, than you should not be using this source to find out what's wrong with your baby. call your doctor. that's what he's there for.

That sounds really odd. You aren't feeling any pain? I would definitely ask my doctor about that... and soon.
