Consider with face recognition, the prospect of national identity cards and the proliferation of surveillance cameras, a large amount of information is being collected. What assurance is there that this information will not be abused?

There are no assurances but you have to know that now that the general public has access to the computer it is those out there in cyberspace you have to be the most worried about. They can do more harm to you than anyone collecting your information.
