I want to get into Lapidary but need advise on what basic equipment I should be looking for. Is it better to start out with used or is buying new the best? I need tumblers and what else? I have an old barn that we are turning into a shop for this. Any advise is appreciated.

You didn't say the scale of your operation. There's the old standby, Thumler's Tumbler, the one with the hexagonal barrel that works welll. Lortone makes some equipment that is better priced than Thumler's. I've bought stuff from this place, they do a good job.
