Okay, I really don't know what the other two answerer's are talking about. I have had fish for about 20 years and well I have had Betta's off and on. You can place two female Betta's together. I have had up to 5 in the same tank. The females are much more docile. There are occasions where they will fight, but they hardly ever kill each other. Now you don't want to put two males EVER together. They will kill and in Siam this is a sport. So yes, two females can be in the same tank just make sure they have plenty of room. A one gallon might cause them stress being together, so just use prudence.

Of course you can keep females together, it is the males that are the agressive ones. However, the males are only agressive toward other males and females that are not ready to spawn with them.
Once in a while you will find a dominant female, but if the other females are not, it just sorts out in the pecking order. They do not fight like the males.
In the wild, the males stake out small territories at the surface of the water, usually incorporating some floating plants, so they can anchor their bubble nests. They all think their own territory is the best one and will chase any other male away from it. That is where the agression comes in. They are not agressive toward other fish, only their own species.

That goldfish will advance, or it is going to die. The goldfish is coldwater and the betta is tropical as somebody observed. Goldifsh are additionally poo machines, and desire very efficient fliters. Bettas desire calmer waters and can get under pressure with a reliable filter out. you're able to get a 30 gallon for the goldfish, yet whilst this is out of the question get a samller tank (a minimum of a few gallons) for the betta with a heater.

It depends on the fish. The females will probably be able to live together if they are young and around the same size.
When you put them together have am extra bowl ready incase they fight. A little nipping is normal, and if that's all they do at first, let them go a little longer. If they get to hitting with their bodies, take one out.
Not all bettas will necessarily kill each other.

It depends entirely on the females' personalities.
If they're docile girls? Put them together and watch them. Make sure the tank is at least 20 gallons and allow them plenty of 'hiding' places. Most likely, they'll get along fine.
Males will attack one another for ages. Females are typically a lot more laid back (though Izira,a blue-green female crowntail I had,was a huge exception to this rule).

While it is true that females can be kept together, you really need to keep them in a larger group than just two so that they can establish a pecking order, probably at least 5, and with plenty of space and hiding spots. If you only have two, it would be safest to keep them separate.

you have to plan the tank. make it a home with places they can hang out alone when they don't feel like dealing with the others. BIG silk plants that hit the top of the water are good. on occasion one will be overly agressive or overly passive and will miss out at dinner. if you rearrange everything it usually makes for levelling the playing field.

Yep, sure can :) That's how they sell them in pet smart. They're all together in an aquarium, about 20 of them.
