It depends a lot on how much time you want to spend with that pet. If you want a fairly easy pet to take care of, choose a cat. They are usually already litterbox trained as kittens, you can play with them infrequently, they need their box cleaned once a day, and food and water can be left out for them at all times. Cats can be left home for long periods without getting lonely or upset.

A dog requires much more care; you must take the dog outside several times a day, you must play and exercise with the dog daily at least 20 minutes, you must feed at a certain time (although leave water out at all times), you must decide how and when to train and if to crate train or not (for when you are gone or at night.) Dogs get lonely and upset if left for long periods of time and are much more expensive vet-wise as well.

It all depends on you. If your not willing to give your pet a lot of attention, give it regular walks and train him then a dog is not for you. As for me I am a dog lover and would pick a dog over a cat any time. Dog you could train, cats you cant. I love dogs because they are there when you call and always are happy to see you.

You can ride on the back of a dog, if it is a big one or pick them up by the ears, if they are small enough. Cats are good for catching scorpions and keeping other dangerous pets out of your home. It depends on your needs. In the desert, like Arizona, you will definitely need a cat to keep your house, scorpion free. If you have kids, dogs are more fun to play with, because cats want to be left alone, while they can ride on the backs of dogs. If you tried to pick your cats up by the ears, like our political god, LBJ, did with his Beagle, expect to be clawed seriously, unless you declaw the cat, in which case, they would be useless in scorpion control. Cats might also decide to expand their pest control operations to your other pets, like your pet bird or mouse or hamster, while the only birds dogs are interested in are called KFC without the chicken bones. Dogs also bark a lot, while cats only meow when they are hungry. Dogs also will chew up your items, unless you give them vigorous daily exercise, while cats will claw the heck of your furniture. Declaw a cat and here comes the scorpions.

I think dogs are the best cuz cats are only cute when they r kittens but dogs are always cute, you can exercise with dogs to stay healthy or loose weight, a dog will protect u like the time i got attacked by a Rottweiler my dog fought it off and i ended up with only a scratch, and a dog cuddles up with u when u go to sleep.

I have cats and in my opinion, they are not the best for fun. They are lazy after a couple years and don't play much. They are always cute, but not always playful. They will sit on your lap and sleep, so they're good in that way. They really don't need you all that much, they clean themselves, they don't require walks(and usually hate leashes), and if you keep them outside, they don't require cleaning up droppings. However if you keep them outside they must be spayed/neutered or you will have a lot of babies to deal with.

Dogs are Always fun, they love to play. They are very energetic and always look for fun. In my opinion, dogs are the best pet if you want a fun-loving, playful pet. They do require lots of care though.

it depends on how much attention you want from your pet. I have both and my cats only come around when they want to be fed. my dog is there all the time and he plays and you can take them for walks. theres alot of things you can do with your dog. so what i'm saying is dogs are better.

It really depends on your lifestyle. I have a cat- I put out food and water, and clean her litter box and she is good to go. A dog on the other hand needs constant attention, like a baby. You have to have time to walk it every couple hours and time to train it so it does not chew up your furniture or go poo poo in your home. So, if you work and are busy- cat - if you have a home business or are unemployed it is up in the air- take your pick- animals are fun to have and it a proven fact that they help you live longer!.

That depends on how much time, patience you have as well as your personallity. Dogs require more time, as they are "pack" oriented, They are not at all independent and need as much love and attention as a small child. Cats on the other hand are more independent and don't need the constant contact that dogs require. I have had both and prefer dogs but that doesn't mean it is better.

a dog is the 100% best they are always cute unlike a cat who is only cute when they are a kitten. Also dogs are much more fun you can teach them tricks walk them and play with them, although cats might be able to do this they wouldn't do it as well.

a dog. cats can be manipulative and can get in the way. dogs are really friendly and will love you no matter what. theres a story about a guy who tried to drown his dog. he fell in and the dog rescued him. guess the guy was making a mistake. you never hear about a cat saving anyone or thing. you always seem to be the one saving them. i mean have you even seen "Lassie"
