If no water is leaking and just getting hot while stationary, the fan "clutch" is probably slipping (or worn out in other words). It may be spinning but not fast enough to cool the motor sitting still. When idling the fan shpould produce the equivelent of a box fan on high. Start the car and place your hand near the top of the motor (not too close to get into the fan), if you don't feel a significant amount of air flowing, this is a problem. Ihave had 2 go out over the years (both on Fords). If you don't have a mechanical fan clutch but electric fan motors, have the sensors checked as well as the motors themself. Once the car is going the air is flowing thus keeping it cool.

Your thermostat is stuck partially closed.
take it out and put it in a pan of boiling
water.. it should open up if its good..but
im betting its not ..the air flowing thru the
grill is the only cooling effect.

When you are sitting still, there is no air getting to the radiator to cool the water...when you are driving, there is air cooling that water and that is why its not overheating when you drive...try a water pump

attempt the 260 approach lol (2 domicile windows down going 60mph). and particular, black vehicles get lots warmer than different hues because of the fact black absorbs warmth and mild-weight jointly as white reflects it. different hues which includes purple yellow blue, regardless of, only mirror their color in the sunshine spectrum and take up all others.

make sure the cooling fan operates properly, possible bad temperature switch or maybe the fan itself is bad.
