I dont think it matters. But I grew up in the USA and the general culture where I grew up says that it is OK because we have class mobility...the profit motive and the concept that we can improve our class. (Whether you believe that or not). How ever, there are other cultures around the world where this is not the case. The most notable that I know of is Indian society and the caste system. I am not sure what the current state of this is in the modern world, but it was highly unheard of for people to date or marry between classes. And no matter what you do, you have little chance of upping your class throughout your life there. So, again, I dont think it is a problem, but be mindful, that it does depend on who you talk to about it...

People can be classy without coming from an upper class. And not all upper class folks are classy in the least.
Why in the world would you think that such a thing could possibly matter anywhere and to anyone? If you make one another happy, so be it.

People marry, classes don't marry.
Class is arbitrary. Who calls what what?
If you marry someone you know is right for you, you just accept whatever anyone else thinks as their own opinion, and let them have their antiquated opinions.

unless two people are madly in love, they should stick with people of their own class. because later on down the line their differences may interfere in the relationship and cause problems.

Class is over rated. Love has no class. Class makes people into a @ss.

I married down, and knew it, but didnt know how badly that would make things suffer until later. He tried to tell me that it didnt make an ounce of difference that everyone in my family has college degrees, and no one in his family does. His family had their house reposessed, mine's never had anything like that. Just "small" things like that, that would show up in magnified ways later.
