The Phillies have beefed up during the off season and will leave the Mets in their dust.

I gotta go with the Atlanta Braves. The Phillies have a nice long history of haveing good teams that begin underperforming in July and August. And they don't have a great pitcher. The Mets, also have a great lineup, and a little more pitching that the Phils, but not enough to win the division. Smoltz, Hudson, Hampton, Davies, and James will prove to be near the top of the MLB. The Braves have arguably the MLB's best bullpen, and they may not have the best lineup top to bottom, but still have Renteria, Chipper, Andruw, Francouer, and Silver Slugger Brian McCann.

The Mets are the defending NL East champions and won the division by a wide margin last year so they should be considered the favorites to repeat. The Phillies have definately improved and the Braves have gotten healthier and the Marlins rookies will have more experience so it will be a much more competitive division in 07'. The Mets though are still the team to beat in the NL East and perhaps the entire NL.

particular as a Mets fan you're able to prefer the Phillies to commerce Rollins. that should a great deal enhance the possibilities the September choke-fest won't value the Mets the branch. Ordonez found out that mild hitting injured shortstops should not be mouthing off to newshounds. Rollins incorporates adequate action picture star value that he can say issues, and that i've got self assurance that Phillies followers can take it. because of the fact all of us know they might dish it out. Edit: Rollins hit .313 in Sept with 2 HR and 9 SB and .286 with 2 HR and 3 SB in the playoffs/WS. Why are you asking me for an instantaneous answer? i think of Jimmy is the only you're able to be asking. As a fan i do no longer prefer my ego stroked by ability of the gamers on the group. you like me to experience sturdy, win some video games.

i would have to say the Phillies because of their strong pitching. I think the Mets pitching is not as strong as this time last year. The Braves could also contend if Hudson improves and Hampton returns to form.

The Philles are because they have the NL MVP, the best second basemen in the MLB, one of the best shortstops in the league and they got good pitching. Getting Garcia is really gonna help them this year. And Cole Hamels is a great pitcher. I think they make it to the World Series this year.

ok since howard was elected MVP i guess that means the phillies will win a minimum of ten more games this year...
also, since the phillies improved their pitching so much by signing garcia they have now become the favorite to win the division even though his lifetime ERA is over 4 and his ERA last year was over 4.5...
i have just given you the opinion of every philadelphia phillies fan and i hope u realize how stupid it is to put philly in first place before the season begins.

Philadelphia has to be the early-season frontrunner. Glavine (and El Duque, as far as anyone can tell) is on the wrong side of 40, and Pedro's out for at least half the season (unless I heard wrong). For New York to be considered a frontrunner, Glavine (and El Duque) has to turn back the clock yet again, Pedro has to recover quickly (not going to happen), and something has to go wrong with Ryan Howard (which could happen, considering Derrek Lee was injured last season).

the mets have a great team and they do have a good chance, but the phillies are going to take it, i think the hitting and pitching will come together later in the season for them, but the mets will lead until the allstar break.

If the Mets can get there pitching going, then they will win the World Series.
