Yup Valentines day gave us 30 inches of snow, which would have been bad but we also got huge winds which made 8 foot drifts. Barns roofs are falling down and school was cancled for 3 days. Wednesday night you would look out and see nothing but white you could not see where the road ended and a field began. It left for more original cudding up and keeping each other warm insted of dinner and fancy outings. But we got what we deserved because everyone up here in VT has been begging for some snow we did not get any until after christmas then it was only like 3 inches. Now we have it and people are still complaning; just now it is that there is too much snow.
It is amazing outside though got to love it being a true vermonter.

Yes.... having grown up in the Burlington, VT area, I have encountered quite a few severe snow storms. Blizzard conditions occur when the snow is being driven by the wind cuasing near zero visibility... I've had the misfortune a few times of being caught out driving a tractor trailer at work.... not much fun!! I've since relocated to South West Florida near Tampa and deal mostly with the rain for the last year.
Even worse than blizzards in my opinion are ice storms and any storm fueled directly by large open bodies of water.

Sure was ,many years ago . It was so bad it knocked out the power . We hooked up a little gas stove in our kitchen . Hooked up another one at our neighbors . We had a gas stove so we could cook food , they didn't so there kids brought over some food for us to cook for them . On the way back to their house one of the kids caring the corn slipped on the show & the corn went every where . What a site .
The snow was so deep the road crew couldn't scrape it in a lot of places for weeks so they couldn't fix the power lines . The farmers had to milk by hand just to give the cows relief then dump the milk . One Amish farmer spread the word that any one with a jug could get free milk we just had to walk to his place to get it .It was at the edge of town so we went & got some . The stores were closed & thank God we were stocked up before it hit . Had a lot of canned food & mac & cheese . . with 6 kids we were lucky . Our neighbors had 8 kids . We just had to bondle up & wate it out . The farmers not having power & the milk trucks not getting through , having to dump milk for weeks was so sad & hurtful for them . What we just had here in Ohio was hard for a few days for some people ,but nothing compaired to that blizzard .
We had a battery radio & kept hearing that the farmers were contacting the station by short wave radio begging for help . It was really bad .
But seeing that corn fly through the air was some thing I'll never forget .
