I would go with Soriano, due to the fact that if he leads off, he has Derek Lee and Aramis Ramiraz to hit him in. He is going to score a ton of runs next year; also he has developed into quite the homerun hitter, and when the wind blows, Soriano's bat will rock.

Reverse the order - Pujols is the default #1. Yes Soriano had a great year last year and is moving to a hitter's park. BUT WAIT, didn't he play in Texas (hitter's park) and have so-so years once he had a contract. Also, expect a drop in SBs as the Cubs won't risk the injuries associated with stealing when there are such great bats behind him.

You are a very smart girl. Soriano will more than likely duplicate his 40/40 numbers in Chigcago. There will be plenty of power hitters to go around.

Pujols is an easy choice, but there are several others than could be considered based on league rules. J. Santana could be taken 1st if your league is pitcher heavy. In fact he is more dominant than Pujols in my opinion. Also, Jose Reyes is a solid pick because he is a beast in runs and SBs. Also, he won't kill you in homers, RBIs or average from the SS position. These would be my top three:
Pujols
Santana
Reyes

Pujols for sure
Todd Helton He's healthy and has something to prove
I like Soriano too. He's pretty consistent so I like his chances to duplicate his numbers from last year.
