I'm not sure about the integrated sound, I would get a sound card to allow for much better sound to come through. With integrated HD sound and a sound card, it should sound great.

In Win XP. that onboard card is BETTER than my creative Audigy2 because it had Dolby Digital Live. I have only used the digital out port, so I cant vouch for the analog sound. In Vista, the Dolby Digital codecs dont work. Really, it's great sound and hard to replace. I love it and I always disbale the onbard!

most likely youll get better sound with a seperate card. onboard sound/video and nic is all about cost cutting. Ideally go with a brand that specializes in soundcards. Creative ,Turtle Beach.....
Not that it is bad it is probably fine for the average user but sound cards are not Intels specialty.
