Actually book titles are unique since they cannot be Trademarked or copyrighted. That is why there are many "WEBSTERS" Dictionaries, but the one that was originally written by Noah Webster is the "Merriam-Webster" Dictionary. The Content is still copy-written but the titles are free game.

Titles are not allowed to be trademarked. There are lots of books with the same title that have nothing to do with each other. Content is protected, not titles.

titles of books are not trademarks, they are copyrighted and they are automatically copyrighted when the book is published, it doesn't have to be registered anywhere.
