Why is it that when ever something doesnt go my black friends way, they label it as racist. " Barrack Obama cant be president" reply" You freakin racist." or " I think that BET is stupid" reply " You racist".

I think that racism is mostly extinct, but many use it as a tool to get their way.

I agree with you. I heard more racial comments come from blacks people then from whites in my city and on the news. But I never see a white person pulling the racism card on a black person or suing a black person for racial slurs towards whites, because I guess it's hard to 'prove' that. Racism can go both ways, without a doubt, but proving it to blacks seems very difficult.
Even with Asians and Latinos. My personal guess on all of this is because it was the white Europeans that bought blacks and Indians and made them slaves and the Europeans and Spandards killed Indians and blacks and others for their lands and possessions hundreds and thousands of years of ago, and their descendents haven't let it go. I am white, descendent from Russia and Belguim, and I am not proud of what the whites did in the Americas. Black slaves built this country, while by force in the beginning, today many still hold onto the bad parts of the past. Many whites are still racists yet many blacks are still racists. I doubt it will never end. But it's not fair that only they can call the racism card on white's comments.

Some people just don't know the difference in racism and just not liking something. I don't like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Maxine Waters. It's not because I'm racist, it's because I hate racism and they are racist.

Maybe he took it the wrong way when you said "Barrack Obama (Cant) be president." Did you explain? Why not ask your friend this question? Do you talk about race a lot? Sometimes in different circumstances people can take harmless statements the wrong way.

although slavery is long gone, racism is not. racist attitudes are very rampant. I was in a discussion group examining the presence and effect of racist language today and unless you stop to examine your language(and yeah who has time for that...wink wink) you would be surprised how many racially informed comments/attitudes/language (spoken and unspoken) that every individual comes up with in daily communication...having said that, if and when someone brings your attention to watch your racist language, take it with a grain of salt and thank him/her for taking that extra step to make this world a comfortable place to all who live in it.

I don't think that you are racist you are just stating your opinion!! I tell my White friends certain things and they do not think that I am pulling a racist card towards them, it depends on the level of maturity of your friends!!
