Me and my fiance have been togther for a little over a year now. We got engaged back in July of 2006. We sat down and picked out a wedding day. Then last night he told me that he wants to put it off because we have to work on somethings before we can get married. What do you think this means? Does he not want to marrie me anymore or is just no ready?

Sounds like he sees an issue but wants to work on it to resolve it before u get married.
At least he is talking to u about a potential problem. He didnt just bottle it up and then out of the blue, walk out of the relationship.
Hear him out, and be open to compromise. Its what will make or break your relationship.
Good luck.

It's a good sign that your man wants to ultimately get it right. Seek pre-marital counseling from a minister or counselor. There are a few things you and your fiancee should agree upon before the wedding. It's not about being ready, it's about being of the same mind regarding important aspects of marriage: kids, finance, housing, location.

He may want to marry you but not be ready. He may have scared himself by putting a date on it. You won't know until you ask him.

Ask carefully and give him plenty of room to hem and haw a bit.

It means he's not so sure the way things are now if it's a good idea to get married.

If he truly wants to fix some things....the two of you should get some pre-marital counseling.

he might not be ready. He might feel like you're relationship needs work before he can fully commit to it. If i were you I'd talk to him about it. Ask him why he feels this way and what he means.

Talk to him. He knows what's on his mind, not us. This is what happends in marriage, too. You talk like adults and work things out.
