Ohhh, I hope not! =( That's pretty mean, I don't like the idea of sexism/racism... that's horrible. Yahoo answers should be a place where it's a global community - and we all get along, accepting each other - and respecting others opinions...

For me, personally - I don' think this happens around here- but it's more of the "catch phase" in your "question" (which you ask on Yahoo) which matters - the more 'interesting' it is - the more likely you'll get more to answer your questions... but if people ARE looking at other's avatars/Yahoo images displayed - and judging by them (on whether to answer a question or not)- SHAME ON THEM!

As for the points - Maybe for some it's a "Status" issue...? I don't make a big deal about points, I just think it's more of a pass time (collecting points). I like to be helpful around here - because thats what matters more. The points aren't exactly physical, and you're not gonna gain much outta it (except for getting to the next level). I prefer just knowing that people will appreciate my answers, or agree with me on opinions. =)

For some people yes it does. but in my case i am less conscious of gender then the general population so i dont really go by the gender. Race also affects many people because everyone is a little bit racist whether they realize it or not. and other factors would vary.

No it is not, no one here put his real photo, sometimes u don't know whether the question comes from male or female, or from an American or Russian, so on. Also I'm not here to get points, but trying help others if possible, by giving advice or suggestion or solution for certain situation, of coarse depend on some previous experience. That's why we are attached to answers.

Very few people answer my questions, but that's probably because I deliberatly ask nonsensical, bizarre or obscure things.
