Yes you do. People are doing years in prison right now for not paying them.

Yes you do legally have to pay a Federal Income Tax under the Internal Revenue Code Section 1, which requires all individuals to pay a federal income tax. This law is Constitutional as the sixteenth amendment allows the federal government to collect income taxes.

You pay or your taxes or you go to jail. You only have the rights you can protect. We have recognized the government of our country and the people that win elections get to say what the law is. Some times there is one additional layer of abstraction in that other people(judges) appointed by the people we elect decide what is legal.

Oh yes. ALL governments pass laws on payment of taxes including income tax, such laws are reviewed from time to time usually to increase the amounts we poor sods have to pay.
Also they lost all sense of humour about it. It is no longer an excuse to not know about every little change to tax laws.

Unfortunately the congress Added a provision to the constitution to allow the collection of income taxes (assuming you are a US citizen).
Also, they have more guns than you, so try not paying your taxes and see what happens.
Spoiler alert: Men with guns show up and take you and your property away.
