Global warming in this country is largely the fault of the north east and they are freezing right now whereas in Washinton state we are having georgeous weather in the 60's mid feb. I left my car on all night just to add that little bit of CO2 to the atmosphere.

clearly irony is lost on many of the highly articulate readers and poster on Yahoo answers so I have included a definition.
Irony, from the Greek εἴρων (dissimulator), is a literary or rhetorical device in which there is a gap or incongruity between what a speaker or a writer says, and what is generally understood (either at the time, or in the later context of history). Irony may also arise from a discordance between acts and results, especially if it is striking, and known to a later audience.

In this example irony arises because global warming is purported to be contributed in large part by greenhouse gasses which are produced in larger quanties in the east. The irony is that the east which is more likely the cause than the pacific northwest is cold rather than warm as it currently is in the pacific northwest. Irony isnt funny in this case but can be.

Irony is trying to avoid an end that one's effort to avoid actually cause. New England wasn't trying to avoid global warming, nor is now; they merely wish to keep their citizens employed. That isn't irony; it's a sad coincidence.

Now, the energy subcommittee on global warming being canceled because of an ice storm the other day IS ironic.

I moved to the Czech Republic, where it's so warm this winter that I rarely need a coat. In comparison, Chicago is sub zero.

Looks like I picked the right place!

You should not use your car at all, use a bike, put the thermostat to 60, and not use air conditioning at all, the worst part will be the sea level rising, like in Miami, but what the heck they are all Cubans any way... And yes it is your fault US consumes 50% of the word energy what a waste

Hmmmm, how is it ironic that we are freezing in the middle of winter? I thought it was supposed to be cold now.

I'm not sure anyone is to blame for whatever climate changes we are seeing. Therefore I don't see any irony.
