The movie is "WILD IN THE STREETS" (1968). In the film the voting age was lowered to 14. The 'youth vote' (52%) dominated at the polls and a rebellious 22 year old rock star was elected President. The young President then declared "Don't trust anyone over 30". He had the over-thirty's placed in 'retirement homes' which were actually re-education camps. While at the camps they were forced to take LSD. With all the adults over thirty incapacitated, laws were changed giving the youth more authority. Soon the kids took over the United States. Chaos ensued resulting in anarchy in the streets.
Good, chilling counter-culture movie in it's day, seems a little campy and dated now. The only familiar faces in the movie are Shelley Winters, Richard Pryor and Hal Holbrook. All in all it's a good movie. I recommend seeing it. I've attached a link. Enjoy.

I remember that one! The only ones who were alive were the ones who died at a particular time - the very instant that some satelite came online or something like that. The guy ended up on a planet with what looked like Saturn rising in the sky behind him. It was on a video I rented, but I never saw it on TV and don't remember the video name. Good movie though. I loved when he got those cardboard cutouts and stuck them all over the lawn to make it look like a crowd, because he was so lonely.

THX 1138 (1971)
George Lucas adapted this, his first film, from a short he made at University. THX 1138, LUH 3417, and SEN 5241 attempt to escape from a futuristic society located beneath the surface of the Earth. The society has outlawed sex, with drugs used to control the people. THX 1138 stops taking the drugs, and gets LUH 3417 pregnant. They are both thrown in jail where they meet SEN 5241 and start to plan their escape.
Its not Logans Run or Cleopatra 2525

Oh my God, I saw that movie when I was in jr. high school. They put everyone 30 and over on acid and let them veg in the camps. The "president" started off blowing up cars and doing drugs. Sorry I can't remember what the name was though. That was between 1969 and 1973 and my memory isn't that good any more but it was a fair flick.
And no it wasn't Logan's run, I own that movie.

I think your thinking of Logan's Run from 1976. "An idyllic sci-fi future has one major drawback: life must end at 30."

I don't know that one, but I am 100% sure it isn't Logan's Run. I've watched that one too many times.
