My second cousin takes the tree to his bedroom and keeps it up ALL year. Its artificial of course.he lives with his mother, and he is a little bit ,well.umm.lets say hes.umm. I will just leave that alone.
why not just pick it up .and take it to the storage room or garage and it will be ready next year?I have a small Norfolk pine that I put white lights on, as a Christmas tree , this past year and I have put it in my bedroom, and keep the lights on,so I guess the keeping a tree up year round. is inherited from my second cousins side of the family, ha ha ha.

The wife of the late Bill Gaines (founder of Mad Magazine) would leave the tree up year round.
If it makes you feel any better there are some people in Brooklyn New York who still have the X-Mas lights on their fire place.

I took mine down two weeks ago. I had to practically force myself to do it. I'm mad because I went to Wal-Mart to buy those ornament storage containers and they have none. I saw them before Christmas!!! Don't they know that some people leave their stuff up a long time? I agree. I like putting it up, but not taking it down.

Wow. It's like 2 months after Christmas and you just threw out your tree now?! Traditionally, people discard their trees like right after New Years . . . but congrats on being different and starting your own tradition :D

Nah. I live in a trailer park that doesn't have trailers, and I can count about 11 from where I'm sitting right now. Still, you may want to think about it for health reasons...

Oh heck no, not even close. I know some families who leave their (artificial) trees up all year, all the decorations, outdoor lights, everything!
