Plant cells and animal cells have many of the same characteristics, but they are different in some ways. Plant cells are easier to identify under a microscope because they have a rigid cell wall made of cellulose outside the cell membrane. This gives the plant, and the cell, structure and support. Animal cells do not have a cell wall.
What are two differences between plant and animal cells?
Only plants have chloroplasts. Only plants have cell walls.

plants and animal cells r quite different.
plant cell consist of a cell wall,so they have a definite shape whereas animal don't have a cell wall, therefore they don't have a definite shape.
plants have a definite nucleus but animals don't have a definite nucleus.
in plants-plastids,vacuoles r present, but absent in animal cells.
on the other hand -centrosomes and golgi apparatus r absent in plants and present in animals.
golgi apparatus is known as dictiosomes in plants.

COMPARISION BETWEEN PLANT & ANIMAL CELLS
(PLANT CELL)
1.cell size is larger than animal cell.
2.cell wall is present , it surrounds the plasma membrane ,forms outermost envelope.
3.chloroplast is present for photosynthesis so have photautotrophic mode of nutrition.
4.vacoules r present , usually a larg central vacuole.
5.centrosomes r absent.
6.cell division takes place by cell plate formation during cell duplication.
(ANIMAL CELL)
1.cell size is comparatively smaller.
2.cell wall is absernt , plasma membrane is the outermost envelope.
3.chloroplast is abseny so have heterotrophic mode of nutrition.
4.vacuoles r usually absent, may be small or many.
5.centrosomes r present as 1 or 2 granuler bodies called centrioles.
6.cell division akes place by cell membrane furrowing during cell duplication.

Animal cells
1. Usually smaller in size.
2.Enclosed by plasma membrane only.
3. Plastids are absent.
Plant cells
1. Comparatively larger in size.
2. In addition to plasma membrane sorrounded by a thick cell wall.
3. Plastids are very common.

plant and animal cells different bcause they posses a pigment named cholorophyll which human cell does not have. If we had cholorophyll then we colud have prepared our own food & we colud have not dependent on plant for our food.Plants has a box like structure & animal cell does not have that is why we can move from one place to another & plants could not.

plant cells have cell membranes while human cells have only a nuclear membrane. Plant cells look sort of like a green wall of bricks while a human cell is circular.
