I have been chastised for shaving my daughters head and sending her to school in a moo moo for being too fat. Is that really that bad?!

NEVER humiliate a child. There is a difference between humiliation and discipline. If you humiliate them they lose trust in you as a parent and hence as a authority figure. She will always think that all men are like you. You should be reported for Child abuse. Have you ever thought that they is a reason why she is over eating? She probably hates herself and her body already. You are making it much worse. Be a man and give her back to her jobless mum.

Let's put it this way, people have had taken children removed from
their care/home for a heck of a lot less, and a weight problem is
something a parent should be helping a child with NOT critisizing
for --- think golden rule, just how would you have felt if a parent
had done the same to you -- I think it's traumatic

That is horrible - almost abusive. Think of the adult you are molding. You have earned no respect from me. If you prefer a thin daughter with anorexia, then you are setting her on the right path. She will be thin but she may also be hospitalized or dead.
Public humiliation is never ever ever acceptable in a sane world.

It is never acceptable... and how dare you do that to your daughter. You have mental issues for even thinking of something so cruel. Im amazed your said daughter didn't commit suicide for having a parent so evil. You just don't do that kind of stuff.
