How do dancers handle it when their bodies change? I mean with wearing leotards and having periods and not being able to wear underpants with your leotard? What about the pubic hair, how do you keep it from showing when you wear a leotard? And what about your breasts, you can't wear bras under leotards either? Help, I'm confused and need to know what to expect.

I'm not talking about stripping, I'm talking about Ballet and Jazz! Thanks to those who are giving me real answers.

As for at the Pub Hairs.....shave or get them waxed. And under our leotards, we used to wear pasties or even put bandaids over our nipples. If more support is needed you can go to your local dance store and ask what items they sell. I know that have some things you paste under you that give support and do not show lines through spandex. Hope this helps.

I assume you're talking about ballet and not stripping like the other responder mentioned. About the periods: try wearing tampons. About the pubic hair: shave it or wax it. It's really not that bad. About the bra issue: get a tighter leotard that gives you support. Or look for a leotard with built-in cups. If you need nipple coverage, they sell pastie-like things to keep them from showing when you are cold at places like Victoria's Secret.

Im a part time exotic dancer and I have to wax my pubic hair (if you dont like waxing then trim) ,wear tampons, and if you have small breasts it wont be as uncomfortable, I wear a double D and if I wear a leotard it would certaintly be noticeable.

Odd question. You shave pubic hairs, use tampons that fit neatly in your (you probably get the idea and don't want the specifics) and you can still wear a thong/G-string and of course no bra, but you can cover just your nipples so they don't get irritated (or seen, if that's your concern). That's pretty much it.

periods- you wear a tampon, and go to the bathroom A LOT

pubic hair- you trim it

breasts- most leotards are tight. when you get up in sizes they usually have their own padding there

put band-aids over your nipples. around the age that girls are "developing" they really don't have to worry about boobies flapping around. the leotard will keep them down.
