It looks like sh*t! Her hair was so pretty....I don't know what she was thinking...unless she wanted to match her crotch! ;)

I disagree. Her career is not based her bountiful talent, it is based on publicity. Everything about her is a committee crafted persona, driven by focus-groups. All of her "antics" are scripted pretense of spontaneity (e.g. - kissing Madonna).
Think about it, she could have sat in her house or hotel room and shaved her head, BUT NO, she went out in public and did it. All talentless celebrities rely on tabloids to keep their images public. John Mayer doesn't need to have an outrageous antics to sell albums. Jennifer Connelly doesn't need to stay in tabloids in order to maintain her image. Keri Russell does not need a staff of publicists telling the world how gorgeous she is because she is gorgeous. Britney, on the other hand, with her midget-looking face and dumpy body does need help convincing people that she's gorgeous
On another note: she has punished her hair with so many chemicals, dyes, products and hair extensions, that someone just told her she needed to shave it off. Furthermore, she could gain more publicity for herself by doing it publicly.
