if yes, how was it?
was the food great?
it's cuz im in this organization called people to people and we have to do this project on the foods of italy and instead of surfing the web, i wanna ask all u bloggers first to get some insight of how europe really is like instead of getting all this bullcrap from websites about how truly great and cultural europe really is. also, are the ppl over there nice, and what was ur best part, experience, hotel, landmark, etc., about ur adventure there?

You can't ask what the Europe is like!!!I've lived here(In Europe, more precisely Slovakia, UK and Italy) since I was born and I am not able to answer this question. Europe is a continent with many countries and many cultures that differ from one another so if you want to ask about specific country there'll be somebody that'll answer I'm sure!!It's ridiculous to ask what you've just ask!!!

europe truly is wonderful. i have lived there a total of 4 years and although i am a bit partial to southern europe (spain and italy, especially) there are fantastic places everywhere. yes, the food is great and italian food (REAL italian food) is absolutely delicious.
people are nicer the further south you go, but the customer service isn't like north america, so don't expect that.
The best parts of europe, in my opinion are-
the laid-back coffee shops,
the beauty of the swiss and austrian alps,
cinque terra in italy,
san sebastian, spain
madrid--love it alll-the food, the museums and the lively people
paris-truly gorgeous city
london-right up there with new york as probably the greatest city in the world
the german biergartens
the small towns in France, Spain and Italy.
Venice, Italy--again, beautiful!
Croatia-dubrovnik's medieval city is unbelievable!
Amsterdam's canals and museums
There is SOOO much to see and do and it's so easy to travel within europe.
By the way, People to People is a great organization. Enjoy your trip!

Yes, we've been all over Europe. I'm not sure what you mean about "anywhere around that region". Europe, is Europe.
Rome is very much like any big city. Traffic, people in a rush, plenty of rude people. The areas further out of the city are much more civilized. Fun people, great food.
Each area of Italy has it's own type of cooking and each area is very proud of their food. Some areas have heavy food, lots of sauces. Other areas have a lighter fare. In the US we have a little pasta with our sauce. In Italy, they serve a little sauce with plenty of pasta. Food varies greatly, depending on what area you visit. The Italian people are very proud of their regional cuisine. There is little or no real Italian food in the states. What is served here is a very jaded version of Italian food, not at all similar to what you get in Europe.
Here is a very interesting article about Italian cuisine and how the various border countries affect their cooking style.

Good luck with your project!

I am station in the army in Germany, have been all over Europe. If you really want to experience what it is like here you must visit here yourself. The food is great and so is the German beer and the people are friendly with the exception of the French of course. The most beautiful place i have visited in France was Normandy. The people are very friendly and love Americans. Switzerland is pretty and so is the Italian Alpes.

Spent a month in Sicily with wife's family. It is differ ant then the US as in the area we were in lacked so much except great people. They lack what we take for granite, like air conditioning and well stocked grocery stores. Where we were the water pressure was poor and at times I would give anything for a ice cube. I am sure there are safe areas and dangerous areas, but as my wife's cousin was police so he knew where not to take us. So Sicily is beautiful but if you are interested in other parts of Europe It will not be reverent to you Two things impressed me and that was the religious devotion and the restaurants where you ate what they were fixing and no menus and there pastas had Very little tomato sauce in it.
