there is no real risk of being hacked into by keeping your router on 24/7,i mean there is 1000,s of broadband users who leave their routers on(including me)
as long as you have a decent and solid firewall then you should be fine, remember that apart from the firewall installed on your o/s you should also have a firewall in your router ,so stop worrying
the fact is,you are probally doing more damage by turning off your router every night, than by leaving it on forever, thats why broadband suppliers call the set up "a allways on connection"
good luck mate

Yes it is still using power so best to turn it off!! Also another reason you shouldn't leave it on 24/7 is because by turning it off will help it run more efficiently!!

Won't hurt to turn it off when PC is off. What's the point of having it on all the time, just a waste of energy IMO.

ANYTHING that is using electricity is wasting power if left on. Not that much though. If in doubt, turn it off. Better safe than sorry.

If you won't use it for a longer period of time is better to turn it off. Not for a few hours though.
