This type of statement bothers me, too, because it makes no logical sense at all. When a woman is pregnant, it is an undeniable biological fact that she has ANOTHER BODY inside her own. Her baby has his or her own unique DNA, heartbeat (at 3 weeks), and brain waves (at 6 weeks). The child may be a different sex and may have a different blood type. The baby moves independently, sucks her thumb, get the hiccups, smiles, and frowns--all in the first trimester! At just 8 weeks, if her palm is pricked, she will open her mouth and pull her hand away.
Even a born baby is completely dependent on her mother. Left alone, she will die. Does that mean it is okay to kill her?
Consider, too, these comments from http://www.deathroe.com/Pro-life_Answers :
"First, it is nonsense to suggest that the law never tells people what they can or cannot do with their bodies. In fact, there are many things which people are not legally allowed to do with their bodies. To name just a few, they cannot sell them for sex, or sell their organs to people who need transplants, or put certain drugs into their bodies.
Second, statements like this ignore the fact that, by any rational standard, the unborn child is a separate individual from its mother.
In fact, if an unborn child had the ability to commit a crime, it has everything necessary for a forensic expert to identify it in court. Long before the point at which most abortions are done, the unborn child has its own DNA code, its own fingerprints, and its own blood type – none of which match the mother.
The individuality of the unborn was evident in 1999 when a Tennessee surgeon had just completed an operation on an unborn baby and was about to close the incision in the mom’s abdomen. Before he could do so, the child punched his arm through the incision and grasped the doctor’s finger. A photo of this event ended up on magazine covers and television sets around the world. The question is, who grabbed the doctor’s finger?"

No. And I will tell you why.
You need to look back to a time when abortion was not only illegal, it was downright dangerous. It was a time when a man kept control of a woman merely by keeping her pregnant, especially against her will. It was a very effective form of slavery.
You may say, okay, but NOW there is very effective birth control. Right. You are right about that. So how many men out there are being responsible and using condoms during sex? How many Catholic men are out there so dedicated to their religion that they would NEVER use birth control, and NEVER LET their woman or wife use it either? Unwanted pregnancy still occurs.
Your question makes it obvious you have never considered how REAL LIFE happens.
So let me ask you this..........your mother or your sister is raped and becomes pregnant by that brutal act. Or say you are a woman who just found out you are carrying a baby that will not live outside the womb or that the delivery is 100% going to kill you.
These things, these situations occur every day. Are you going to say that a woman needs to be forced to carry a fetus that reminds her every day of that 9 month period how horrible the rape was? Or how she is going to die giving birth? Or how the baby inside her is already dead and she still has to wait until nature takes its course?

Just because somebody is against abortion, it doesn't mean they are religious. I personally would never abort my child. I'm not really sure how I feel about it if someone else does it. I used to be dead against abortion in ALL cases, no matter what. But over the years I've seen alot of CRAPPY UNFIT mothers who don't DESERVE children, and their children don't deserve crappy deadbeat parents. That thought kinda makes me rethink the whole issue. But I do think abortion is sad for the baby, because all living beings want to survive.

This isn't really an answer, but women generally don't want abortions the way your phrasing makes it seem. It's not, "Oh look, I'm pregnant again! I can't wait for my next abortion, oh boy!"
Nobody skips in to an abortion clinic, comes out an hour later and schedules an appointment for next month.

It's not even her body. The body is the Lord's temple, and the life she is carrying inside of it is not hers. Depending on who you talk to, life begins at conception. Abortions happen long after conception, and therefore, abortion is the killing of an unborn child.

Yes. The time for choice is deciding to go to bed with someone or not. After the fact it is too late. I find it disgusting too when this attitude is put out there by Christians especially when it was Christ who said "This is my body that will be given up for you". He did this for sinners but the women will not do it for even an innocent baby.

Since you placed this in this section, you are most likely religious; I'll assume that you are Christian says that God has planned the exact time of life and birth of everyone that will ever be; therefor, he planned the abortion of that fetus, and the mother and doctor are doing gods work.

The so-called "baby" is USING her body without her permission. It's sucking the nutrients right out of her bones, blood and muscles. It's taking up space inside her.
If the woman used birth control, then she was specifically trying to PREVENT pregnancy. A fetus that gets past birth control is the same as a person who gets past your alarm system and breaks into your house.
My uterus is a no-fetus zone.
