Why do we live in a society of stress, when we have machines that do every thing for us?

Look what people used to do before washing machines, cars, computers, ect ect ect, but we in this day seem to be more stressed than they were, why is that?

Because with the machines, came managers' expectations that we do more and more and more....it's like, "Wow, we've got this machine that can make 50 widgets when we used to make 25 widgets.....do we make 25 widgets and then let people go home early, or do we make everybody stay at work the full day and make the 50 widgets?"

I think it sucks. We should be allowed to go home as soon as we've finished our work. Instead of making less work for us, the machines have made it possible for bosses to cram in more and more work in a day.

Managers - they are the route of all stress starting with the Government as the main 'evil do'ers'. when one thing has been addressed by a machine or whatever they see people having it easier and think of something else to stress us out by.
Its like at work when the managers are coming round the assistants all are stressed going ' look busy look busy' Even tho you already are - then when they come, they want you to stop and speak to them. Its like no i havn't got time - come round when ive finished my job and pay me overtime...Thanks.

There are some things, like scrubbing a kitchen floor when everyone's out of the house, that are so relaxing for some women.
Some chores just work the stress right out of our bodies...
but we think we need expensive yoga classes.
And we've got to work twice as hard to afford the conveniences...
and drop the kids off somewhere when they're too old for the child care...
And that's one minor example.
So, just go scrub a floor and to hell with Swiffer.

I think it is because we human being want to be perfect all the time. Also since most of the job can be done by machine, we are lacking of physical exercise and movement that make us distract from other unsolved problems.
