HI,
I think Bridge is just too hard to learn. My favorites are
Canasta: http://games.yahoo.com/games/login2?page=ca&ss=1
and
Spades: http://games.yahoo.com/play/sp&cat=beginner&ss=1
I am 53 and have a lot of friends my age and older that play all the time and enjoy it a lot.
Have fun playing.

What you stated about popular games is partially true.

But all over the USA, in every area there are on almost every night of the week tournament Eurchre games being played. Millions play every night. You need no partner. Just call local Moose, Elks, Eagles, VFW's etc. to find out about the games in your area.

Some require you to be a member. Most do not.

And, right here on Yahoo you can find online games to enter into, and for about $5 you can get a copy of Bicycle's Eurche game to load onto your CPU and play alone for practise.

Well, strip poker would be more entertaining...but I'd say Texas Hold 'Em.

I can't figure out bridge and I don't remember how to play canasta (we used to play that in one of my Spanish classes.) Hearts or Spades is fun, and you can practice on your computer.

Check out the Yahoo Games site for different games--you can practice a lot of different ones that you can play in the real world later on. Or you can just play with people online.

Tonk is a favorite around here ( I have never played it), but I find Rook very popular. We play it every holiday with the whole family. My kids love it and the older grandparents love to teach the kids. I also believe Bridge is a popular game, but it was way over my head, lol. Good luck in your search!

You gotta learn how to play Hanafuda. It's a Japanese card game that my grandma and aunts would almost get into fisticuffs over. Those Hawaiians love to Gamble.

Hearts. It is best if four play. The game can be learned in one evening.
