Paul Molitor

No, a full time DH has not been elected into the hall of fame yet.

Paul Molitor finished his career as a DH, but he played more games in the field than he did as a DH. Molitor arrived in the Big Leagues as a middle infielder, mostly at 2B. He then moved to 3B in 1982, and helped lead the Brewers to the World Series. His last few years in Milwaukee he moved back to 2B and then to 1B, before primarily becoming a DH for the Blue Jays and the Twins.

2683 total games
1509 as a fielder
1174 as a DH

You've read about Molitor. Edgar Martinez has an outside chance...

If David Ortiz has another 4 or 5 seasons like he's been having, he'll get serious consideration. The only thing holding him back is that he was a late bloomer and rode the pine on the Twins for too many years...

Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken. May David Ortiz take his rightful place among major league's pantheon...
