thirty years ago they ran around like chicken little and cried that we were heading for an ice age. well that didnt come to pass so they needed another idea to panic about. if you remember it was asteroids or rogue comets. now they have come up with global warming. Sure the climate has warmed a bit in the last 30 years or so. there is just not enough data to prove that humans are the cause. Think about this. How long have we been keeping accurate temperature readings? is this really long enough to come up with that conclusion? What were the temperatures like say a hundred years ago before records were kept or accurate measuring devices were made? We have had several ice ages in the past and what happened? Well at the end of each one wow global warming melted the glaciers and we emerged from the ice ages. The earth itself produces more greenhouse gasses than man could ever imagine producing. Man is just too vain to think that we have control over our universe.

Global warming and environmental degradation were written and spoken about quite often. There were TV programs, including a very good one called "After the Warming." But it wound up being a fad. People got bored and skeptical because they didn't see anything bad happening immediately, so they picked up on new ideas, most of which also wound up being fads. Humans aren't very good at long-term thinking. It takes real disasters to wake them up.

are you kidding me? I was taught about global warming in elementary school in the early 80's. This is hardly the first cycle of educating about it. It's all about politics sweetheart.

The world was not very interested. It's still not interested. The world is comprised of people who believe that the status quo is unalterable, and reject out of hand any suggestion that they may be wrong.
