I do not believe that america is ready for a black president because of the false expectations that black america will have. to be factual most blacks in america are middle class to lower class, whom believe that a black president will be the answer to ending their struggles. when in reality black america cause most troubles for themselves and not racism. as i mentioned before i am all for the growth of blacks in politics but i think as a whole america period is not ready for a black president. i am not saying that all blacks are one wa but i do know that if a black president is elected before the time is right many people are going to be dissappointed and not just black america. think that if a black president is elected to soon it will only be because of the color of his skin and that is what the fuss is about racism. basically electing a black president right now would be a contradiction and big dissappointment because of false expectations.

why are you judging a person for the color of his skin. i don't care if he is white, orange, yellow.

America is ready for the right person, with a good intention to be a president no matter what the skin color of that person.

the only expectations that black people in America expects from a black president is that maybe just maybe that black people will be respected and given the chance in every aspects and corner of the society.

You maybe right is some sort of way for saying that black people is causing trouble for themselves, but for you to say that racism doesn't have a part on their struggles is wrong.

personally i think barrack obama will be a good president. new perspective and actually a decent person. he doesn't have personal agenda for his business or friends to run for presidency.

I love your honesty and incite. I don't know if having a black president will change much, but it will prove that the U.S. has come a very long way. Having a black president will open a new door for our children and grandchildren, I think America is ready for Mixed-racial leaders. However, I don't think it would be a good idea to have a woman president yet because of our fragile relationship with middle eastern countries. I believe putting a woman in power at this point in time might make things worse. Whatever the race, it isn't as much an issue as the sex. The salary differences between a man and a woman right now are about $140,000 in a lifetime. That makes me sick.

If I understand your question, then I would have to answer that America is ready for any president of any color, gender, or sexual orientation that will uphold the Constitution of the United States. I know I am. The last 2 have been major disappointments.

My apologies, but I don't see the connection between the black president and being a trader. Did you mean to say traitor? Even if that were your intent, I don't see the connection between the race of a President and being a traitor.

I am sorry if I misinterpreted your question, but your grammer is not the best. Somewhat difficult to follow.

I can't STAND Obama, McCain, or Hillary. They're all terrible. When someone says that I don't like Obama because he is black...BS...I would love to see Colin Powell as President, maybe even Condoleeza Rice. If Obama becomes president this will become a Socialist Nation and he will let countries like Iran and Syria build up Nuclear Weapons and maybe, just maybe start WWIII! Obama just doesn't have enough experience to be president. I really don't think that it will change the status of minorities. I actually think it might get worse since he signed a document saying he believed in Black Liberation Theology.

You raise several good points, I personally will vote for the most qualified candidate regardless of race or gender, I think Obama with his youth and inexperience would definitely make a good VP to be groomed for president on the next election cycle. I also don't believe Clinton is a good enough public speaker, she always comes across as crass to me, one thing is for sure the democrats do need to come up with a viable candidate and not get to cockey with the the senate/house elections and think they can just run anyone against a republican and win.

I still LMAO every time I here a black person say Obama isn't black or black enough.

As a white person I do not care if a president is black, white, female, Republican or Democrat. What I do care about is if they can do the job. The problem today is ones who are running will say what people want to hear so they can get elected. Then people will then vote for them because they like them. I don't care if I like the person or not, I want someone who can do the job and as of right now we don't have anyone running in the next election who can do the job. To answer your question if a black person was running for president, would I vote for him, if I thought he was the best choice and could do the job, yes he would have my vote.

A: I think you mean, "Am I wrong or a traitor?"

B: I think that you have issues with yourself, as a Black woman. I am Black, and I grew up in some of the crappiest parts of Brooklyn. I've seen people on crack, I've seen chickenheads, and ghetto people. But they don't represent me at all. Look at Bill Clinton. He was born into an upper-class family, and he became president. What's your point? That a Black person can't become president because most Black people are not from the upper-class?

C: I don't care if the president is a biracial hermaphrodite, as long as they know what they hell they're doing, and as long as they don't to force their beliefs on me.

The only reason the USA is not ready for a black president, or a female president is the present narrow-mindedness of the electorate. Even moderates of both parties are not comfortable with the idea of a non-white, non-male president of the United States.

You make some interesting points. Your heart seems to be open for improving the lot for those around you. Have you given any consideration on trying to start something locally. Most social changes are going to have to start at the roots. When I worked for the school system, many poor (poverty) students didn't have guidance at home, food, or the inspiration to put forth any effort. We don't need Million Man Marches on Washington. We need a few good people to care about the world right where they are at. There is alot of work to do if a community can find someone to organize and get things rolling. Change is within the grasp of everyone, but only if they know it's there.

You are entitled to your opinion , whether you are wrong or not. I disagree that if he is elected , it will be because of skin color. Barack Obama has an exciting dynamic, that hasn't been seen in a long time. He seems strong and willing to stick to his principles while listening to what the people want. He has an intelligent charisma that many find appealing and promising. If it was just about skin color Jesse Jackson or Colin Powell might be president next. Your opinion does not make you a traitor, it makes you an informed voter, who doesn't just vote by emotion.
