I have recently gone off the pill, as my husband wish o start trying for a child in a few months. I stoped taking the normal pills when it was my week for the sugar pills (I id not take the sugar pills)... Yet I still have not got my period.. it was been around 3 weeks.
I must say that every now and then i do skip (my body just decides for its self), but I would have thought when I did not take them as normal after the sugar week that my body should have gone, hold on this is not right - and it would have come on then.. but still nothing. Is this something I should worry about?? Serious answers only please

It might take you a month or two for things to get back to normal, especially if your periods were somewhat irregular before you started taking the pill.

The Pill basically tricks your body into thinking it's already pregnant. So it withholds releasing eggs (the "period" you get is from your uterus shedding its lining, which has only had a few weeks to build up as though you'd been pregnant for just a little while.)

But if you were irregular before, the Pill won't make things regular when you stop taking it. It IS hormones, and your body doesn't just "know" what's going on. As far as it can tell, you had some extra hormones and it assumed you were pregnant.

So give it a few more weeks. Don't worry about it too much.

And as far as getting pregnant...don't fret if it takes a while. Give it a few months. After, say, 6 months and you're not pregnant, go in for testing and possible fertility treatments. You may need a round or two of fertility drugs to get your body to release some eggs. But be a little more patient--you haven't really given your body time to do much.

hmmm, thats a little bit weird. i also skip from time to time, but if u had taken the complete cycle of pills that month it should have come as normal. i hope u didnt miss a day or anything? for this reason alone i would get it checked bc the pills should have brought it on as normal.

usually your body goes back to normal after the pill, u dont have to wait for the pills to "go out of your system" or anything if u have irregular periods usually, u can take the presription drug clomid to bring on ovulation if u want to have a baby. good luck.
