Sleeping is good for teens but sleeping in is not! If you sleep in, you break the rhythms of sleeping that you had during the week, it makes you less ready to go to sleep that night, more likely to oversleep the next day and as soon as the first school day comes up, you're running on empty.
Better sleep is regular hours. That includes weekends. If you stay up late one night, get up at the same early time the next day and have a normal day. When you get tired earlier, just go to bed and catch up on your missed sleep that way.

Teenagers need, I think, 10 hours of sleep per night. However, if you are only getting 6-7 during the week you can not "catch up" on the weekends. You should try to space out your week so you can get sleep during the week and try to stick to a schedule even on the weekends. That is best for your body.

Sleeping is good, it helps you grow properly. Teens need about 10 hours per day. Most kids don't get enough during the week and need to catch up on weekends.
If your parents yell at you for sleeping late, what would they do if you REALLY misbehaved?

Teenagers need more sleep than anyone else.
Although it depends on what you mean by sleeping late.
If you stay up until 4 AM and then sleep until 2 PM, they have a reason to be ticked. If you stay up until 11-12 PM and sleep until around 11:30, on a weekend, that's normal.

Adolescence takes a whopping amount of energy, not just the physical growth part but the emotional turmoil and the production of hormones and managing the changes in their bodies. Also, they sleep better in the morning, typically, and function better later in the day, totally the opposite of most school schedules.
If you need to, have your doctor explain to your parents that you aren't being lazy, that you really do need the extra sleep.

People of different ages have different sleep requirements. The teenage years are apparently one of the higher sleep requirement age ranges.

Yes, sleeping is good. When you say sleep in do you mean till 10 or 11... that is reasonable, but if past 11 a.m. your parents have a point.
