Unfortunately, he actually pretty underrated. He's the best qb of his generation but was overshadowed early in his career by Young and Aikman and then Manning later. I'd take Favre over all of those guys. I think he's one of the top 3 to 5 qbs to play in the modern era.

All time, contemporaries only (from Montana and Marino to Brady and Manning), or today only?
Today he is like 16th best in the league. All time, he is in the top 50 or so all-time. (That sounds like an insult, but it is not. Slingin' Sammy Baugh and Sid Luckman are elite company.) If you mean compared to contemporaries, I'd put him in the conversation with Elway, Aikman, Steve Young, Marino, etc.
For all you idiots saying top ten all time, who should we bump off
1.Sammy Baugh
2.Sid Luckman
3.Otto Graham
4.Bobby Layne
5. Norm VanBrocklin
6. Bob Waterfield
7. Sonny Jurgensen
8 Johnny Unitas

I am Brett fan but I have to say he's in the bottom end of the top ten. Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, John Elway, Troy Aikman, Dan Marino, MAnning, and Brady are all above him I would say.

I personally dont like the guy. He's a good QB but I dont think he's on of the best because there were a lot of QB's better then him.

He's up there at the top even despite his horrible 2005 performance. Every year he continues to play his rank among qbs all time will go down.

well hes lost it like all qbs do towards the end of their career so it could be wise for him to retire and keep his career qb rating how it is or he can go for yardage. but then agen if he gets randy moss in who proved useless in oakland he might have a deep threat nd have a gd season

Skill as of NOW, in my opinion he can still play, not at his past potential but he needs some people to work with
