If you want to get best answer, don't spill your heart out and give worth while answers to people, no. Give them short dumbed down answers and maybe throw in a couple of grunts for good measure and your best answers ratio will be through the roof.

Here, just so I won't get reported for being a non conformist. I will make it a question.
So what do you think?

well i don't know if this is true exactly. If someone was to assume an answer was BEST, they would think that all aspects of the question were assessed and properly answered. I have personally found that question askers genuinely wanting a good reply pick the longer answers that completely explain something as opposed to the ignorant, just wanting points majority that reply. My suggestion to you is to pick someone who is sincere in their question asking and try to provide the best answer possible, and you will be rewarded for it.

Interesting.
I prefer to keep it real and offer something of value where appropriate.
I just edited my blog with an entry about Yahoo Answers; check it out.

Here's some tips for u:
1. u have to know ur audience, it that case is the asker.
2. u have to fully understand the question... they say understanding the question is half the answer.

Uh Oh, someone didn't get picked for best answer. I know the
feeling but sh*t happens, get over it and keep on answering .
Someone , someday will read your answers and know you're
the best and you will feel great.
Sometimes I get all great answers but something of what they
said reminds me of something else or sticks with me and they
get picked.

life is unfair and the best answer can be as subjective as an asker chooses it to be, still in the long run they are just meaningless points, enjoy the process of asking and answering, instead of worrying about getting 10 points.

I think it has something to do with the grunts. Ugh!! Ugh!! And then you answer with something even if you don't know the answer.
