No, it's not true. There are many such myths, and they all lead to one thing: UNINTENDED PREGNANCY.
ANY time you have unprotected sex there is a possibility of pregnancy. There are some times when it is more likely than other times, but if you have sex, the possibility is there.
If you don't want to be pregnant, the best thing to do is go get the morning after pill NOW. Do not wait until a missed period, go NOW.
The next step is to get on some form of reliable birth control. If you choose the pill you will have to use a back up method for the entire first month until the hormones kick in.
Finally, these are all things you should know before the first time you have sex. SOMEONE in your life should have educated you about this, and if not a family member, there is always the public health clinic. The nurses there protect your privacy and they know the correct information.
Now, please get up from reading this and go get yourself the morning after pill.

It is true. There is only a certain window of time when u can get pregnant and when u can't. I think u are safe and have nothing to worry about. BUT ALWAYS USE PROTECTION IF U WANT TO REDUCE THE CHANCES OF GETTING PREGNANT OR GO ON THE PILL FOR HEAVENS SAKES
in response to some of these peoples answers....a period is when an egg does not become impregnated and that is when the lining of the uterus sheds. do not listen to those people they have no idea what they are talking about. i went through this planning my kids and there are only certain days (3-5) when u can ACTUALLY get pregnant so they are full of BS and if u want to know more from someone that knows what they are talking about then email me at renee_837@hotmail.com

lots of girls ovulate actual in the course of the middle of their cycle. So in the adventure that your cycles are oftentimes say 30 days lengthy, divide that through 2 it is 15. So on the 15th day after u initiate the rag you ovulate. some women folk ovulate an afternoon or 2 in the previous or after the middle of their cycle. i assume the sperm can stay in you for a at the same time as and when you're an early ovulator your egg can get fertilized. when you try to stay away from getting pregnant i urge you, do no longer trust in the PULL-OUT technique. LIKE 9/10 CHICKS i understand THAT USE THE PULL-OUT technique finally end up PREGNANT. do not placed your self in a difficulty think ofyou've got quite prevented with condoms or the pill.

No, he is wrong
Yes some people can get pregnant
If you do not want to get pregnant, this is what you do:
1. You go the doctor, and get on birth control
2. Never have sex without condoms
3. Always use a spermicide
If you do all three, every time you have sex, you should not get pregnant
The only 100% way not to get pregnant, is not to have sex
good luck

Absolutely not true. I had a friend who thought she couldn't get pregnant during certain times of the month, and she was very wrong. She has a few kids now, with her first being at sixteen.
You should NEVER have unprotected sex unless you are married. You are looking for trouble. Be careful.

You just never know when an egg will drop. Sometimes they drop more than once in a month. Once, I got pregnant on the day my period was due. I knew this because my u/s due date was 2 1/2 weeks later then it should have been. You should really consider going on the pill or the iud!!!!!

girls can get pregnant at ANY time of the month. just that, the probability is at the highest, in getting pregnant 2 weeks after your period. But you can still get pregnant at any other time of the month.

its rare , but you can get pregnant. OK, not to get all technical, but its the only way i know to explain it. You can get pregnant, but within those 7 days, the egg is still in the phelopean tube, and if you do get pregnant, this will cause MAJOR complications.

all it takes is just 1 time. you can get pregnant at any time, regardless of when in your cycle you are. if youre worried about getting pregnant either use more than 1 form of protection at a time, or even better dont have sex.

A woman can conceive at any time during her cycle. And from now on, take your health and safety into your own hands. It sounds like your bf is looking for an excuse to have unsafe sex. Please be more careful in the future. Good luck.
