While the success of the team has been a blessing not drafting melo, wade, or bosh was strategy. Joe Dumars has worked to build a team of guys who complimented each other on the floor and had good chemistry. Plus he wanted to give Tayshawn Prince a chance to show what he could do as a started after the way he played as a rookie in the 2003 playoffs.

The key to the answer is Eastern Conference. The Western Conference is regarded as much more competitive than their counterpart. The Pistons have been an excellent team playing basketball the old school way: great defense with midrange/high percentage fgs. BTW Michael Jordan didn't win a championship until a few years either. You think Chicago's gonna remember those years?

Maybe not a blessing Joey D is a basketball guru, he's made a few mistakes along the way but we've let alot of talent go. Memet who is having a nice season, Darko is still going to be a double/double guy when he gets those minutes. Joe didn't want a superstar player he wanted outcasts that people pretty much gave up on Chauncey, Ben, Sheed,Rip had the most upside or so folks thought, those guys were has beens basically. It's funny to me how since Benedict jumped ship he didn't make the all star team hmmmmm

I dont think its a blessing. Sure they won a title, but with players like melo, wade, or bosh on the team the pistons could have been in position to win win multiple titles and start there own dynasty.

No, the Pistons won the championship in 2004, the one season (1/2 season actually) Rasheed Wallace showed up to play. They won't be winning any more championships with the current team they have.

Finals/conference Finals≠NBA Championship. No one remembers also-rans.

No. The Pistons already had a talented team. In the NBA, a star needs a quality team around him.

i admire the Cavs 4-2. Magic are a very sturdy group yet they are particularly inconsistent. regardless of the undeniable fact that I do think of the Magic can provide the Cavs some problems with their matchups. i think of Rashard Lewis would be a tricky tournament up the Cavs and he's the foremost for the Magic i've got self assurance in this sequence. yet I only think of the Cavs are greater valuable group and greater consistent.
