I am reluctant to concur that Romeo and Juliet did not use their brains. Your homework requires that you talk about the other deaths Tybalt and Mercutio as well. You should analyze the extent to which fate (force beyond our control) and or human weakness (loss of self control) is to blame for the deaths.
There is a paper that discusses exactly this question. It will help you but I advise you not to take it as your own. It should guide you not replace your own efforts. Acknowledge its source otherwise you 'll be accused of plagiarism. Make sure you only borrow some ideas to guide you formulate and write your own. That is how you'll understand the text well.
Here is the paper:

This is an easy sparknotes question, look up Romeo and Juliet sparknotes on google, you'll find it. But if you actually read it, you'll notice that their stupidity is what got them killed, if you're writing an essay I'd suggest using some cliffnotes, then relate it to some other instance of wild teenagers doing silly things (like Columbine or something) and how they get caught up in the heat of the moment and the romance and so on. Just keep in mind that Romeo and Juliet never used their brains, they used their hearts and feelings (very human things) and that is what ultimately led to their demise.
