if someone don't want to take there pet to the pound, why do they exspect someone else to take it in if they just dump it off any old where regardless of size

because they don't love their pets could you just dump your best friend in the middle of nowhere

Maybe they just couldn't deal with knowing that when a dog is brought to a shelter by it's owner that it can be euthanized right away, but if it is picked up as a stray it must be retained for several days. Maybe they think during that time someone will bond with it, or give it a chance in a breed rescue. Maybe they are hoping someone will take it in. It is a shame that they don't either try and rehome it themselves or seek a breed rescue, especially for smaller dogs.

Its a horrible fact of life - some people just don't care. Some people should not be allowed to own pets. I hate seeing irresponsible pet owners. Makes you wonder if they treat their children the same way they treat their pets.
