"I'm squishing your head!" I loved this show, and I think they are being released on DVD now too.
Kids in the hall was a canadian sketch comedy team:
Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson
Scott Thompson however, was the only one that admitted to being openly gay. You can read more here:

Indeed - dude's dressed like ladies is a theatrical tradition dating back to the time of Shakespeare (women didn't even have RIGHTS back then - they sure as hell weren't going to pay to see them on stage!)..
but back to TKIDH.. any 30 something smart-*** Canuck could hardly forget.. hell back in those days all I could afford was KD and whatever was showing on the (free) broadcast station - the CBC.. Kids in the Hall were a lifesaver!
Scott Thompson was gay.
Bruce McCullough was IMHO the funniest one.
few realize this but Canucks have been rockin the comedy world big time since the 70s.. Mike Meyers, Jim Carey, Phil Hartman, Norm MacDonald, Eugene Levy, Leslie Neilson, Dan Akroyd, Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas, Will Sasso, John Candy, Lorne Michaels..

I don't think any of them are gay...I just believe that because there were no women on the show they had to fill in on there own. Also, it's occasionally funny when men portray women because sometimes there impressions are dead on and sometimes they are very biased.
I hope that helped.

They were influenced by Monty Python's Flying Circus, where the all male cast played female parts as well.... goes back to the old, old days of theatre where all the actors were male.

I suspect they dressed like women because they were better-looking in drag than most biological women.
And you do realize that being gay and being a transvestite are two DIFFERENT things...don't you?
