I need to change icon (in windows xp) say for example open folder icon and i want it to be applied for all the folder icon.-hope u get my question!

Do you mean that you want to change the appearance of all of your folders or just the appearance of the inside of folders?
Open any directory--right click on anywhere and select view/icons.
Drag a box around all of the folders that you want to change the appearance of--all of the folders that you want to change should be highlighted--right click on anywhere and select properties/customize and select change icon.
Or just do a Google search for 'customize folder icons at once' and there's a bunch of programs avaliable to customize the appearances of folders.
