Well let's see here. With all that information I can narrrow down from $2.99 to $3,500. How the heck could anyone here even estimate with that non-description? P.S. a '91'? I wouldn't sink a lot of money (more than $300) into something that age.

If you have to replace the transmission, it will cost you more than the car is worth. I suggest getting an official diagnosis, and if that is the problem, consider buying another used car.

Manual or automatic? What's the transmission problem? How can we give you an estimate on such skimpy information?

All you have to do is take it to a service station or dealer and they'll give you an estimate.

Like the other answerer said, it is ATF, check the cooler lines from the transmission to the radiator.

it may cost 500.00 plus but you should always get an estimate with other repair shops cause you'll always find someone who will do it for less then the other guy...
