Nothing has changed about my income or tax situation, AND I have started including deductions that I used to ignore because I got a refund without them.
Using purely math, I would say that Bush has RAISED my taxes. Anyone else noticing this? (I am in the middle class income range.)

My income is the same, my amount with held is the same, but under Clinton, I got some back, under Bush, I pay. No mistakes. Are you people who are saying "Nope. Bush lowered taxes across the board, yuk yuk." tax payers? I want input from people who know how much they make, how much they have withheld, and how much they pay in taxes. People who have accounts telling them that they are saving "tons" and people who don't even pay taxes need not weigh in on this.

Where did I say "how smart I am"??? I changed jobs. My new job pays me $6000 less per year. I claim the same number of deductions I always have. I used to get about $2000 back each year. Now I PAY $2000.
I notice the pro Bush people are resorting to ad hominem attacks, rather than talking about how much larger their refunds are now. They are making broad generalizations like, "Bush lowered taxes across the board." These are techniques used by their heroes like Rush Limbaugh. But they only reveal that there is no substance to their position.
Tell me what your refund was in 1998. And tell me what your refund is now. Make fun of the fact that I make less money and blame my intellect and NOT Bush's economic policies all you want. Misspell words like "liar" when you use them to describe me. That is all fine with me.
None of that changes my question: Has anyone else noticed that their refund disappeared??? This is a mystery, when we are told that our taxes have been lowered.

Bush did lower taxes, for his buddies "the haves and the have mores." The middle class must now foot the bill for the outrageous defense budget (mostly due to the Iraq war) and more tax cuts that he wants to give to wealthy business owners.
Bush does not want a middle class. They tend to vote Democratic and are usually the ones that are educated enough to know better. In Bush's USA, there are two classes, the rich and the poor. The rich make the rules and reap the benefits, the poor cater to the rich and should pay tribute that the rich allow them to live in their presence.

Either show us the numbers or accept us calling you a liar.
The truth is that if everything was kept the same (deductions, wages, etc), you would be paying fewer in taxes under Bush than under Clinton, because the tax rates are lower. Period.
Unless you got caught by the Congress' AMT travesty.
Repeat: Show the numbers or be considered a liar.

All brackets were lowered so if your circumstances are, in fact, unchanged except for additional deductions then you are paying less in federal income tax. It really is that simple.
If, however, that is not the case, then YOU should be telling US specifically why you're paying more and not the other way around.

You are either doing them *** backwards or you are lying thru your teeth.
Bush tax cuts lowered the percentage of taxes you pay across the board so everyone who pays taxes, pays less.
Anyone who denies this is either ignorant or is a lier.
All you have to do is compare last years tax tables with this years and you will see the lower amounts this year. I can't help you anymore if you can't do that.

George and Laura Bush showed just how the change of administrations should be done. They set a fine example. I hope in 4 years when Obama leaves office he will show as much class.

I dont really pay signifigant taxes at the moment, but my parents get back 100 more than they did with clinton. And they lost a child reduction. Something must be wrong with your calculations...sorry, thats all I can say.

Interesting. This person who is so adament about how smart he is, is making the SAME amount of money he did over 6 years ago. Wow, that impresses me that he, above all others, would certainly have answers the rest of us cannot supply.

Because he's a republican thug who serves his own buddies and his needs at the expense of others, for example, 3100 soldiers he has killed. Gotta love his supporter whyisall... and their motto "if you say otherwise you are a liar." Yeah, as opposed to Dumbya's honesty ROFL

Something is screwy.
Why would you have gotten a refund, unless you turned in too much on your W4?
I don't believe you.
Taxes are lower. The Democrats are still screaming about the Tax Cuts.
You haven't gotten a raise in over 6 years?
You are confused or lying.
