Okay I am not being selfish or whatever about wanting all the flies to die but I would like to know how to keep flies from entering my apartment? I have already heard of the thing about the ziplock bag full of water but my husband did that and it didn't work. So please any kind of spray or any kind of device that will make them stay away from my door? I know someone is gonna say that is impossible but oh well let me know of any ideas! Yes I know I put it in the wrong category but flies are like pets. Well okay not like pets but I couldn't find where to put my question!

Okay first of all my apartment is clean and yes I do shower! The apartment I live in is more like a duplex and there are only 3 apartments. But they call them apartments. And I didn't mean that the flies were swarming to my door it's just that I hate flies and when they come in my house it makes me sick. When you leave your door open don't flies come in your home? Or when you have to go outside the flies come in when you open the door!

There are machines use in restaurants that you could probably find online. They have a blue light that zaps flies. Or you can use fly tape..it's not very attractive, but it is tape that hangs and it catches flies. Try home depot or lowes for more ideas or for products to get rid of the flies.

you can go to a plants garden department store and go look for a small boxs that cal the sticky glue rollers that use for to make the bugs flies to fly onto and does keep them flying away and even help they flies stop coming again . u just pin the stick glue roll on the inside of youre front doors and back door and maybe one on the outside of the car garage door where every you do see them coming inside the apt. . you should stick the pins that goes with the glue stick rollers on youre above the doors so that will trap the flies for good and you can use them by turning off the lights and the flies couldnt even know its there and even cant see it in the dark . there is also one more thing you can get too a dark screen cover where you can use to block the doors to keep the flies away . you can find them in the store . and there is another thing if you have some flies that coming from the bed rooms windows then you should try get these stinky smell green candles that you can use on the flat slide near by the windows you just light it up and the smell will make the flies to fly away .

I don't know for sure about this, but for our horses we make our own extra-strength fly spray. At stores like TSC, you can buy what is called Pyrethrin, which is the main active ingredient in most fly sprays. Most sprays, however, put a very small amount of this in their solution, only about .10 %. There may be instructions for at-home use listed on the bottle, I'm not sure. Like I said, I can't guarantee this is what you need, but it works around the barn on our horses, so it's worth a shot. Maybe try spraying it around your windows and doorways?
I have also seen where you can buy nests with tiny hornets, that do not bite or sting. They keep flies away. I'm not sure where to order them, so I would probably google it or ask local farm stores.
Hope this helps!

Fruit flys would properly be confusing in the south. One interesting aspect is they could stay in the sink drain. Pouring boiling water in there would properly be the most suitable remedy in the adventure that they have got been round a at the same time as and different methodes do no longer supply lasting consequences. Emptying trash regularly helps. utilising previous zip lock bags at the same time as eliminating stuff they prefer. Vinegar will be used to attraction to and seize them. i take advantage of a waste can that works like the former diaper pails with an air tight turn correct lid Walmart had them very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. some insecticides are what i'd call organic and that i spray my garbage field if I spot even one. Then there is the former indian trick, at the same time as the scent and flies get stressful flow to a sparkling region. for domicile flys a swatter and holding the door close works for me. looking what attracts them like cows, can help the prognosis. capturing the friends livestock supplies upward push to a worse issue so i do no longer propose that, till you're fairly smart he he.

make sure you clean up the front of your apartment door. clean around the area and pick up anything that may be a breeding area for flies.
here is what i got from a website:
Here are a few hands-on methods:
Keeping flies away is often a matter of cleanliness. Remove compost to the compost pile, and don't leave food uncovered.
Invest in window screens and screen doors and encourage your children to close screen doors quickly when they enter or leave the house.
Use flyswatters. Children enjoy this. Make it a contest to see who can swat the most.
Encourage the spiders in your house: they eat flies.
Hang pomanders on doors: citrus peel is a great repellent.
Dust the bottoms of your trash cans with borax.
Place potted basil plants in infested areas.

Ask the other people in your building to clean their apartments!
I know if you put honey in a cup or open container outside your door, they will attract to it and get stuck in it. Or you could hang some fly paper on your door, that would do the same thing but you might end up attracting even more.

I know that at picnics you can fill cups with water and that helps to keep flies away. Why don't you try the sticky fly strips? that will at least help control the flies. I'm not saying that your house is dirty but make sure that you keep everything clean and food put away.

Did anyone smear crap around your door? Spray Raid in your apartment and leave for 2 hours when you come back sweep up the dead flies, I would also suggest spraying Lysol around your door.

This is not actually going to keep them away, but for the ones already moving in with you . . .
but bowls or glasses with about and inch or so of beer in them. The flies love it and often get so drunk they can't fly out or get blood alcohol poisoning and die.
I discovered this by accident when my daughter let her lizards food out of the container. I'm not a beer drinker, but a beer-drinking friend of mine came over for the weekend and I noticed the bugs LOVED her bottles! It was amazing seeing all of the critters floating!
I've had co-workers use this tip for plants with bugs, too!
Good luck!
